In 1969, a young, enterprising Los Angeles medical school student named Clifford Hassing, developed a unique new compound containing pure Isobutyl Nitrite.

Hassing bottled his new discovery under the name Locker Room®, because, as he would later say, as it got older it often “smelled like dirty socks”, and he began selling it as a room odorizer in the Los Angeles area. Literally overnight Locker Room® became a hugely popular product, sparking a unique new industry.

It was soon a success all across America, and for nearly forty years has been one of the world’s best sellers.
